That title was a New York policeman’s view in 1989, quoted by P.J. O’Rourke in Rolling Stone magazine in November of that year. It has much of the same tone of angry law enforcement that Judge Starmer-Dredd uses: harsh and uncompromising yet facile and pointless.

Of course, I was going to go wittering on about the riots, but the “realities” and actualities have already been overwritten by
