Gosden said the ground was riding soft, at which point the social media mob and the racing hacks reacted as if he had actually said that The Queen Mother was a shoplifter and Mary Berry couldn’t cook! A second school of thought suggested it was the worst ride the horse had ever been given. Another group suggested that the winner had deliberately boxed Ombudsman in, and, of course, there were another 1000+ armchair jockeys who had an opinion about whether the pacemakers were used or not, or whatever or this or that.
