It's Grand to have a Festival - but when?
I had intended a small racing piece about… well, racing.
Then once again that bloody man was at it again, only this time the bully had come out from behind the bike shed and had set up the victim with a planned, deliberate gang beating in public. The attack started with the presenter of Real America’s Voice, Brian Glenn, who is dating Marjorie Taylor Greene, the MAGA congresswoman, asking why President Zelensky wasn’t wearing a suit. (He conveniently forgot that a senior Cabinet Member, Elon Musk, wore a baseball cap and tee shirt to a cabinet meeting). Both Vance and Trump thought this frightfully funny, and then the real attacks started.
It was ruthless, planned, and abhorrent, and any sympathy I had for America’s direction of travel in terms of trying to lessen its $36.22 trillion debt - a debt which has increased six-fold in the last 25 years - are lying in the same tatters as Ukraine’s and Europe’s and Britain’s alliance.
This man does not bode well for our independence.
On a happier note, the racing jungle always comes alive at this time of year.
