I occasionally poke my nose into the pages of Huffington Post, largely when I need to take the edge off my boyish enthusiasm for life.
Today I discovered in an exclusive, that a spokesman for the PM, (that probably means the PM), plans to launch a strong campaign pre-conference to counter Nigel Farage's assertion that “Britain is broken.” This leads me to suspect that Starmer is suffering from some form of early-onset Dementia because he must have forgotten all the times he has told us that Britain is… what’s the word… broken.
Let me help his memory.
July 29, 2024: Following their general election victory, Starmer's office issued a department-by-department analysis of the state of the country, stating that the nation is “broke and broken.” This was done to lay the groundwork for potential tax increases and to blame the Conservatives for the financial situation.
