The Red Sea Turf Handicap in Saudi Arabia, a valuable Grade Two run at a moderate tempo last month, saw Byzantine Dream emerge victorious, with Epic Poet and Continuous finishing second and third. This race is often a key indicator for the Dubai Gold Cup. AL NAYYIR (11/2), conceding weight to his rivals, raced more prominently but lacked the required acceleration when the pace quickened. However, unlike Continuous and Epic Poet, Tom Clover's seven-year-old possesses the stamina of a genuine two-mile stayer. The anticipated presence of Trawlerman and Double Major should ensure a more demanding pace, playing to Al Nayyir's strengths.
