As we have mentioned at the beginning of the year, we have changed our staking methodology to a simpler form. We now calculate our returns to SP (never some mythical price that was available last night for two minutes), on the basis of 2 pts to win for all prices 13/2 or less. In decimal, that is 7.5. For all prices at 7/1 or bigger (decimal 8.0+) we play 1 pt e/w.
The number of times we got caught out by suggesting horses that were 16/1 the night before and that went off at 4/1 was bamboozling and had nothing to do with the weight of funds, just automated trading algos.
Finally, how you bet is entirely up to you; I am merely your humble servant trying to guide you across a stormy sea!
